No. The drill&plant mini is a drill bit that you can attach to any standard drill and use to dig holes in any soil with ease. But you will have to already own a drill, buy a drill, or borrow a drill to use it with.

How does it work?
The drill&plant mini is a drill bit that you can attach to any drill that can accommodate a 3/8 inch (9 mm) bit. Make sure to secure the drill bit nice and tight inside the drill, so it doesn't fall out when you use it. Set the drill to spin clockwise for the auger to work properly.

Is it safe?
Yes. The drill&plant mini is absolutely safe to use. However, it is advised to use it with a drill side handle in tough rocky soils because if the auger gets stuck in a rock inside the soil and you don't have a firm grip on the drill, it can twist it out of your hand.
